UPS Replacement, Glasgow

The upgrade of the UPS system to enhance the resilience of the existing UPS system, UPS switchboard and UPS distribution.

The project comprises the enhancement of the existing main UPS resilience to true N+1; the addition of G59 protection to enable synchronous manual transfer between mains and generator supplies; the addition of an automatic signal to drop out the existing voltage optimiser before manual synchronous transfer from mains to generator; disabling the existing load shedding to 2no main LV panel sections; investigating the option to add a Neutral-Earthing contactor in lieu of UPS out transformer/s; to remove 2no 100kVA UPS modules and associated batteries from level 3 West comms room and re-feed the input to 2no local STS’s from the main UPS.
